SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The Aggies started the game with possession, but it turned out costly. Tyler White's punt was blocked by Notre Dame's Loghan Thomas and returned for a touchdown courtesy of Tae Johnson.

Texas A&M responded on a couple of possessions later. Quarterback Marcel Reed connected with receiver Mario Craver near the sideline for an 86-yard touchdown, tying the game 7-7.

The Fighting Irish regained the lead following a 7-yard rush touchdown by Jadarian Price in the first quarter. Notre Dame led 14-7 after one quarter.

Both teams exploded for offense in the second quarter after registering 21 points altogether.

Notre Dame kicker Noah Buurnette converted on a 22-yard field goal on a drive that went 38 yards and took 5:58 off the game clock, extending the Fighting Irish's lead,
