ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The friends and a co-worker of a St. Louis attorney are hoping to solve what’s been a weeks-long mystery.
Jim Schottel had his belongings stolen outside his downtown St. Louis condo while having a medical emergency. It was just before 1 p.m. on Aug. 25, as people were walking on the sidewalk and a flow of afternoon traffic. Video provided to First Alert 4 by a friend shows when someone walked up to him from behind, took the briefcase out of his lap and ran off.
This week, St. Louis Police joined them in asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect.
“I was really shocked, and I was also disheartened for him and his situation,” said Molly Walsh. Schottel is her boss.
