OSKALOOSA, Iowa — An Oskaloosa teacher, who posted "1 Nazi down" on his Facebook page after the assassination of conservative activist and influencer Charlie Kirk and then deleted it, has been put on administrative leave.
Superintendent Mike Fisher has recommended that Matthew Kargol, an art teacher at the high school, be fired. The Oskaloosa School Board will meet next week to decide if he will be. That meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Sept. 17.
Kargol made the post on Wednesday afternoon on his Facebook page. Kargol could not be reached for comment. His Facebook profile and other social media accounts appear to have been deleted as of Thursday morning.
