LEXINGTON, N.C. — People across the Triad are mourning the death of Charlie Kirk, turning their grief into motivation to express their beliefs to pay tribute.

Dozens met Thursday night outside the Old Davidson County Courthouse, where candles flickered and American flags waved in Kirk’s honor. Among those who spoke was Patricia Bandy, who told the crowd political violence must never become normalized.

“It will never be the solution to the problem of communication,” Bandy said. “No side will win, and people will needlessly die.”
