A bag that initially tested positive for explosive material triggered a temporary lockdown Saturday at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport, authorities said.

Amarillo police said officers were called at 9:54 a.m. Sept. 13 after Transportation Security Administration personnel flagged the bag during screening. Preliminary tests showed traces of explosive powder, prompting an immediate shutdown as the APD bomb squad responded.

Bomb technicians examined the bag and determined it posed no danger, police said. The airport reopened around 12:13 p.m., about two hours after the initial call.
