KENNESAW – Two fourth-quarter trips inside the 1-yard-line resulting in just three points left Mount Paran Christian short in a 28-20 loss to Cedar Grove on Friday at Catherine Steele Sewell Stadium.

Already leading 21-20, Cedar Grove running back Makhi Watson broke multiple tackles on his way to a 33-yard rushing touchdown to give the Saints (3-1) a 28-20 advantage with 1:37 to play.

Aided by a pair of critical Cedar Grove penalties, Mount Paran Christian (2-2) needed just over a minute to find itself inside the Saints’ 5-yard-line. On first down, Eagles quarterback Kobe Fleming appeared to have a lane to the end zone, but he lost possession as he dove for the goal line.
