PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - We often look for ways to escape from work and our daily lives and go on a vacation. This weekend, dozens of events are being held to get Portlanders to have a “staycation” and rediscover the heart of the city.

“It’s easy to forget what’s right in your own backyard,” said Michael Williams.

Portlanders rediscovered what makes home so special by having a “staycation” in Portland for the weekend. Instead of heading out of town, many stayed in for the ultimate “staycation” at several events throughout the city. Some found their way at a block party in Old Town on Saturday.
