The deadline for Self Assessment registration is fast approaching. With less than a month to go, HMRC has issued some guidance on who might need to be signing up to the tax system for the first time.
HMRC shared in a post on X: "Check if you need to register for #SelfAssessment for the first time by 5 October. You might need to if you: Have earnt more than £1,000 through a side-hustle, are self-employed, rent out a property."
The Gov.uk website has a handy checker tool that people can use to see if they may need to submit a tax return. This tool doesn't send details to HMRC .
