The Office of the Public Defender is hosting a free Expungement and Bench Warrant Recall Clinic to help residents clear minor criminal arrest records and recall active district court bench warrants.
Volunteer attorneys will be available from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Public Defender’s office at 1130 N. Nimitz Hwy., Suite A254.
“This is important because it gives people a chance to move forward with their lives,” said Sergio Alcubilla of the ACLU, one of several nonprofits supporting the clinic. “Maybe an arrest on their record is holding them back from applying for housing, getting a job, or even volunteering in the community.
