Controversial global ticketing giant Live Nation is firming as the favourite to sell tickets at the SCG and other prized Sydney venues after Ticketek boss Brad Banducci told staff the company is likely to lose its contract with state government agency Venues NSW.
In a town hall meeting on Friday, Banducci and Cameron Hoy, the chief operating officer of Ticketek-operator TEG, told staff to accept the “working assumption” the contract would change hands at the end of October to Live Nation, which is facing regulatory scrutiny about its practices in Australia and the US.
