“The Nature of Our Times: Poems on America’s Lands, Waters, Wildlife, and Other Natural Wonders” is a collection by 210 well-known poets, addressing the initiative of the National Nature Assessment, which was to have been an evaluation of America’s lands, waters and animal environments.

Among other things, it was intended to explore the relationship between people and nature and to investigate threats like pollution, wildfire, climate crisis and habitat loss.
