BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — A Bradenton, Florida, man was killed Friday evening after being struck by a pickup truck while walking down the street, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The suspect, who FHP said is in the country illegally, is accused of driving under the influence, getting into two crashes and fleeing the scene both times.
At around 8 p.m., the 46-year-old pedestrian who was killed was walking north on 15th Street East near the intersection with 49th Avenue East. FHP said he was struck from behind by a 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck and thrown into the ditch lining the street.
