JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - An Arkansas State University football player was arrested and faces several charges.

Jonesboro Police Public Information Official Sally Smith confirmed to K8 News Ja’Quez Cross, 22, was arrested after fleeing on foot from a DWI accident Saturday morning.

Online records show Cross was arrested at 3:09 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13.

Smith said Cross faces charges of misdemeanor fleeing, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage only less than $1,000, driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief second degree, all misdemeanor charges.

Online records show he was released at 7:24 a.m. on Saturday.
