Krista Sandt is comfortable speaking in front a crowd. Her confidence comes from years of leadership both on and off the lanes.

But who could blame the 54-year-old Bethlehem resident for having a case of the butterflies when she took to the podium in July as she was inducted into the Pennsylvania State USCB Hall of Fame at the Penn Harris Hotel in Camp Hill.

She spoke in front of 150 attendees most of whom included Hall of Famers, along with state and national dignitaries. It marked the culmination of four-plus decades in a sport she began by chance.

“My mom started a new life when I was 7,” Sandt said. “She was seeing someone who bowled at Jordan. I took a liking to the sport and joined the Junior program at Hampton.”
