NASCAR star Christopher Bell won the 500-lap race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday and dedicated the win to murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

In an interview with USA Today , Bell lamented the “tough” week the country had endured.

“Most importantly, this week has obviously been a very tough week, and there’s a lot on our mind,” said Bell. “This one is for Charlie.”

Bell raised an emphatic fist as the crowd roared with approval.

“During the weekend, Bristol Motor Speedway also put up a dedication in remembrance of Kirk on the big screen at the half-mile short track, while all of the Richard Childress Racing cars carried tribute decals,” according to Motorsport .
