TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The National Hurricane Center said a tropical depression is likely to form in the Atlantic sometime next week.
A tropical wave coming off the coast of Africa is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms as it moves westward at around 10 to 15 mph.
Dry air is expected to limit the possibility of development over the next few days, though the chance of formation over the next seven days is higher, currently around 70 percent.
"The positive thing is that different models, the Euro, the American, the Euro AI, are all generally on board with keeping this north of the Caribbean, keeping this over the Atlantic." WFLA Meteorologist Juliana Mejia said. "And that's typically what we see throughout the month of September."
