COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- The Columbus Blue Jackets announced it has acquired a new goaltender in a trade with a division rival.
Columbus confirmed Sunday it has added Philadelphia Flyers netminder Ivan Fedotov, 28, in a trade with the fellow Metropolitan Division foe. The Flyers picked up a sixth-round pick in next year's NHL draft in the trade with the Jackets.
Born in Finland, Fedotov has played just two seasons in the NHL after over 10 seasons in multiple European leagues. Last season, he played in net 26 times and posted a 6-13-4 record with a 3.15 goals against average. His save percentage in 2024-25 was 88%.
Fedotov also has Russian ancestry and was part of the Russian Olympic Committee's hockey team at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. He won a silver medal with the ROC. Multi
