For the second time in three years, the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles face off in a Super Bowl rematch.
Last season's Super Bowl teams match up again in the biggest game of the NFL's Week 2 slate. Philadelphia dominated Kansas City en route to a 40-22 win in Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans in February.
It's been seven months but each team is a little different. Philadelphia is entering its second regular-season game following offensive coordinator Kellen Moore's departure to New Orleans. Kansas City's missing Super Bowl 59 leading receiver Xavier Worthy but boasts an improved offensive line thanks to rookie left tackle Josh Simmons.
The Eagles won their seventh consecutive game (including playoffs) in Week 1 with a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys on opening night. A day later, the Chiefs couldn't match that pace and fell to the Los Angeles Chargers 27-21 in Brazil.
Two years ago, the Chiefs and Eagles met in Kansas City the season following their matchup in Super Bowl 57. Philadelphia won that regular-season game 21-17 after losing the Super Bowl.
The Eagles could move to 2-0 with another win in Kansas City or the Chiefs may get a measure of payback for that Super Bowl loss. USA TODAY Sports will provide live updates, highlights and more from their late afternoon game.
Chiefs-Eagles score update: ‘Tush push’ puts Philly up 10
Kelce’s mistake comes back to haunt the Chiefs as Jalen Hurts drives the Eagles down for a touchdown. It took two “tush push” attempts to get there, but Hurts is shoved into the end zone and that might be enough to put this game out of reach for the home side.

Andrew Mukuba intercepts Patrick Mahomes after Travis Kelce drops pass
The Eagles’ second-round pick gets his first career interception and it comes off Patrick Mahomes in a back-breaking play for KC. The pass was deflected by Travis Kelce and landed in the arms of Mukuba, who flips the field and completely changes the feeling of this game. Kelce would’ve had a touchdown. Instead, it’s the Eagles with the ball around midfield, only because Josh Simmons sprinted back to prevent the pick-six.
End of third quarter: Eagles lead but Chiefs are driving
With 45 minutes in the history books, Philly holds a three-point lead. This defensive battle has seen the offenses held in check, but the Chiefs are driving to start the final quarter.

Defense shines in Kansas City
It’s all defense from both sides in this Super Bowl rematch. The Chiefs punted and the Eagles returned the favor as Kansas City gets the ball back with six minutes left in the third quarter. Neither side is giving an inch. We’ll let you decide whether that’s great defense or bad offense.
Chiefs-Eagles score update: Jake Elliott gives Philly the lead
Andy Reid’s aggressive decision doesn’t come back to haunt him as the defense holds for the Chiefs. Elliott knocks one through from 51 yards out, giving the Eagles a three-point lead, but it could’ve been worse. The defensive coordinators will be happy with the way this one is going.

Chiefs turnover on downs to open the second half
The Chiefs start the second half by going four-and-out, turning it over on downs after getting stuffed on fourth-and-1. It was an aggressive decision from Andy Reid and it failed miserably. Kansas City gifts Philly the ball at the KC 36-yard line.
Jalen Hurts stats at halftime
Hurts continues to be a do-it-all quarterback for the Eagles in 2025. The Eagles will be looking for a spark in the second half, but Hurts is doing his part halfway through.
- Completions/attempts (%): 12/17 (60%)
- Passing yards: 62
- Passing TDs: 0
- INTs: 0
- Rating: 76.1
- 2 rush attempts
- 16 rushing yards
A.J. Brown stats at halftime
After nearly being shut out in Week 1, Brown has responded with five catches for 27 yards in the first half of Week 2. It’s still not the impact that Brown is used to making, but at least we can take the star receiver off the milk carton.
Among those receptions was an impressive one-handed snag for a first down late in the second quarter.
Is Taylor Swift at the Chiefs game?
There is no evidence that Swift is in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium for the Super Bowl 59 rematch. Swift has been a frequent visitor at Chiefs home games, especially in recent years. The pop star wasn’t seen at the Chiefs’ Week 1 loss in Brazil – their first since her engagement to Travis Kelce.
Halftime: Eagles take the lead heading into the intermission
We are all knotted up at halftime and right back to where we started. Jake Elliott hits a field goal from 58 yards out as time expires in the second quarter, bringing us to the break tied at 10.
Chiefs 10, Eagles 10
Hollywood Brown injury update
Brown limped off the field late in the second quarter. It’s unclear how the receiver was injured, but Kansas City can’t afford to lose more players in an already depleted WR room.
Chiefs-Eagles score update: Patrick Mahomes calls his number for the lead
Mahomes is doing it all for the Chiefs in this first half. The quarterback is up to 60 yards rushing, nine more than his passing total at this point. Mahomes has added a rushing score to his ledger for the day, giving the Chiefs a three-point lead late in the first half.
Chiefs 10, Eagles 7
Chiefs get a much-needed stop, force another Eagles punt
Right after the score, the Chiefs’ defense gets a shutdown drive from their defense. They force the Eagles to punt and get the ball right back. Mahomes will try to get his offense into gear after a commercial break, starting the drive on their own 31-yard line.
Chiefs-Eagles score update: Harrison Butker gets KC on the board
It's been tough sledding for the Chiefs in this one, but Butker gets this field goal through the uprights from 56. The drive stalled as injuries continue to plague Kansas City.
Eagles 7, Chiefs 3
End of first quarter: Eagles up by a touchdown
The first 15 minutes have come and gone, with a familiar feeling for the Super Bowl runner-up. Philadelphia controlled the first quarter and have seven points to show for it, heading into the second quarter with the lead.
Eagles 7, Chiefs 0
Chiefs-Eagles score update: Saquon Barkley opens the scoring
You can't contain Barkley forever. The Eagles' star puts the visiting team up by a touchdown with a 13-yard score of his own. Barkley had no issue finding paydirt on that score, waltzing into the end zone without being touched.
Eagles 7, Chiefs 0
Eagles use the "tush push" for first time in game
On third-and-1, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles utilized the "tush push" play to gain a first down.
Harrison Butker misses FG
Mahomes and the Chiefs marched into field goal territory, or so they thought. Butker is wide right on a 58-yard attempt and the Eagles take over looking to break this scoreless tie.
Eagles go 3-and-out on second possession
So far, the Chiefs have done a good job of making Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense look uncomfortable. Kansas City takes over on its own 35-yard line.
Chiefs open with a three-and-out
The Chiefs also would've enjoyed a faster start on offense, but they can't get the job done. Kansas City is forced to punt it away after a drive that saw nothing happen. At the very least, they didn't injure a teammate this time around.
Chiefs force a stop on Eagles' opening drive
The Chiefs wanted a better start defensively this week, and they got one. Despite a pair of offside penalties that helped keep the drive alive, Kansas City gets off the field without any damage being done on the scoreboard.

Jalen Carter suspension
The Eagles' star defensive lineman was ejected from the season opener against the Cowboys for spitting on quarterback Dak Prescott and later fined $57,222, the equivalent of a full game check.
Carter crucially was not handed an additional suspension so he will be cleared to take the field against the Chiefs. This incident happened seven seconds into the game before the Eagles' defense had taken a single snap.
“It was a mistake that happened on my side, and it just won’t happen again," Carter said. "I feel bad, just for my teammates and the fans out there. It won’t happen again. I made that promise."
Why did Chiefs announcer Dale Carter resign?
Carter was the Chiefs' public address announcer for the last 16 years. He announced in a Facebook post this week that he has resigned from his position with the Chiefs.
"So, why leave? Over the last few years, the team has made changes to what I do," Carter stated in his post. "Going into the playoffs last year they asked me to make a significant change to how I've called the games (which I tried to do, even though I disagreed with it). Going into this season they wanted a further adjustment that crosses my red line."
“We appreciate Dale’s dedication and professionalism as the in-stadium voice at GEHA Field at Arrowhead over the past 16 seasons,” the Chiefs said in a statement. “We understand and respect his decision and wish him all the best moving forward.”
Xavier Worthy injury update
The Chiefs' top wide receiver in Super Bowl 59 was knocked out of the team's opener against the Chargers on their first drive of the game.
Worthy did not practice on Wednesday and was limited on Thursday and Friday and he will not be playing against the Eagles.
Worthy's injury has been diagnosed as a dislocated shoulder and coach Andy Reid told reporters they are taking things "day-by-day" in his recovery. He has not been placed on injured reserve so there is a chance he returns to the lineup in Week 3 for "Sunday Night Football" against the New York Giants.
Is Tank Bigsby playing today?
After Week 1's Sunday games finished, Philadelphia sent fifth- and sixth-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft to the Jacksonville Jaguars for running back Tank Bigsby. Jacksonville selected Bigsby in the third round, No. 88 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Bigsby is on the active roster and could get some action against the Chiefs as backup running back Will Shipley is out with a rib injury.
Bigsby had five carries for 12 yards in the Jaguars' opener against Carolina. His best year with Jacksonville came last season when he tallied 168 carries for 766 yards and seven touchdowns.
