Charlie Kirk: Like virtually all political conservatives, Oklahoma Republican leaders expressed grief and outrage at the killing of Charlie Kirk on Wednesday.

Democratic leaders were mostly silent, except for condemnations of Kirk’s shooting and violence in general.

Appearing on CNN, U.S. Sen. James Lankford was asked for his thoughts as both a clergyman and a political figure.

“In moments of grief and pain, as a pastor, you don’t show up to really say much of anything other than just to be able to be there while people grieve and vent and struggle,” Lankford said. “As a leader now, … we literally try to be able to voice where we are as a country and to be able to say, ‘When will this get better?’
