GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- A woman is in critical condition after getting shot in Goldsboro, police told Eyewitness News.

It happened just before 7 a.m. in the 500 block of Wilmington Avenue.

Officers found a woman with a gunshot wound inside. There were several other people inside the home but no one else was injured.

The victim was taken to UNC Health then transferred to ECU Medical Center in Greenville. Authorities confirmed she is in critical conditional.

This remains under investigation.
