WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman was hurt in a violent attack in the heart of West Hollywood on Sunday. Deputies said someone pulled out a knife and stabbed her during a fight involving a large group of people.

The woman remains in the hospital with severe stab wounds. The suspect at the center of the attack is still on the run.

Investigators say the attack stemmed from a fight that involved up to 30 people. It happened around 3 a.m.

Deputies arrived to find the woman stabbed near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard.

The intersection was shut down for most of the day while investigators looked for security video and evidence.
