ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Here are my five takes from the Buffalo Bills ’ 30-10 victory against the New York Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium:

1. That was some serious redemption for the Bills’ defense.

The group that gave up 40 points and created the 15-point hole out of which the Bills managed to climb in the final minutes to beat Baltimore last Sunday night absolutely smothered the Jets. And they did it without the defensive star of the Ravens game, tackle Ed Oliver, who suffered an ankle injury in practice Wednesday, and standout nickel back Taron Johnson, who was inactive with a quadriceps injury.

In finishing with 154 yards to the Bills’ 403, New York could get nothing going on the ground or through the air.
