COLUMBIA — Coach Shane Beamer said he is "optimistic" about South Carolina football quarterback LaNorris Sellers playing in Week 4, but wouldn't confirm if he is dealing with a concussion.

The No. 24 Gamecocks (2-1, 0-1 SEC) lost 31-7 in their SEC opener to Vanderbilt on Sept. 13, and Sellers was injured with 1:52 until halftime. Vanderbilt linebacker Langston Patterson was called for targeting on the play and was ejected.

"We're optimistic on both those guys for this week," Beamer said Sept. 14 about Sellers and starting right tackle Cason Henry.

South Carolina travels to Missouri to play the Tigers (3-0) on Sept. 20 (7 p.m., ESPN).
