MILWAUKEE -- A day after being the first team in the Majors to clinch a playoff spot , the Brewers came up short in a 3-2 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday afternoon at American Family Field in the finale of a three-game series.

Caleb Durbin and Danny Jansen homered for the Brewers, who took two of three in the series and are 6-4 on the season against the Cardinals. The teams meet again in St. Louis next weekend.

Pedro Pagés second-inning sacrifice fly scored Thomas Saggese with the game's first run. RBI singles by José Fermín and Nathan Church off José Quintana (11-7, 3.96) pushed the lead to 3-0.
