Luke Littler did his best to silence a hostile Dutch crowd - but ultimately lost to Michael van Gerwen in the World Series of Darts Finals showpiece.

The 18-year-old was beaten 11-7 by the former world number one in Amsterdam on Sunday night with an £80,000 jackpot up for grabs.

It was Van Gerwen who raced into an early lead, with his teenage opponent doing his best to keep the final competitive.

Trailing 6-3, Littler was handed a chance to close the gap to two legs after Van Gerwen missed two checkout attempts on double 20.
