Primaries for two Upstate legislative seats will be decided in a special election, with voting time approaching soon.

Primaries for the seats will be conducted by the South Carolina Election Commission in the fall, with four names on each ballot.

According to a Sept. 9 Greenville News article, the seats were vacated following Sen. Roger Nutt's (R-Spartanburg) resignation, which was due to health reasons. Rep. Bobby Cox (R-Greenville) stepped down from his position to run for Nutt's seat but ended up suspending his campaign altogether.
