Liam Gallagher has paid tribute to boxer Ricky Hatton after his death aged 46. The boxing icon was found at his home in Greater Manchester on Sunday morning. His death is not being treated as suspicious. A series of famous faces have paid tribute since the tragic news broke, including the Oasis star. He penned on X: "Absolutely devastated to hear the news about Ricky Hatton. It was an absolute honour to know him and carry his belts. RIP champ, live forever. LG x." Gallagher and his brother and bandmate Noel famously carried Hatton's world title belts into the ring ahead of his 2008 Las Vegas fight with Paulie Malignaggi. Hatton previously said of his friendship with the brothers: "Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a boxing world champion, support Man City and listen to Oasis. "But I became a four-time world champion in two weight classes, ended up boxing at the Etihad Stadium in front of 55,000 people, and became mates with Noel and Liam Gallagher over the years." David Beckham also shared a tribute to Hatton, posting a snap of him from his boxing heyday. He wrote: "Ricky was one of a kind... just heartbreaking... Ricky was special in many ways, loved by his fans."
