CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cade Smith was credited with his 15th save in Sunday’s 3-2 win for the Guardians against Chicago, but it was Brayan Rocchio’s diving stop of a ground ball up the middle by Andrew Benintendi that saved the day.
Smith allowed a one-out base hit to Lenyn Sosa before striking out Colson Montgomery in the ninth. But Miguel Vargas hit a sky high pop to right that landed for a base hit after Jhonkensy Noel lost the ball in the sun.
