Lansing, Mich. (WLNS) — Dozens competed in the annual “Capital City Dragon Boat Races” on Sunday, but not just for a trophy, but for the love of healing and physical fitness. • (WLNS) • (WLNS) • (WLNS) • (WLNS)

For many, Dragon Boat Racing is just a fun sport, but to Lin Hirai, it’s a chance to help with her breast cancer recovery and physical health.

"This is my paddle, and this is actually the seat I put down on the dragon boat,” said Lin Hirai.

Hirai is one tough cookie; she’s been paddling with her team, the Dragon Flyers of Michigan, for the past nine years.

She’s one of 14 other teams participating in the annual races, but she’s not paddling just to make it to the end of the finish line.

Hirai is in it for the physical benefits it gives her.
