The OU football team continued its hot start to the season with a 42-3 road win over Temple on Saturday.

The Sooners (3-0) were led by John Mateer , who's also off to a strong start. The redshirt junior quarterback completed 20 of his 34 passes for 282 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also ran the ball seven times for 63 yards and one touchdown.

Mateer has emerged as an early Heisman Trophy candidate. He's looking to become the eighth player in OU history to win the award and the first one to do so since Kyler Murray in 2018.
