LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A woman was found shot dead in the Shawnee neighborhood, according to police.

Louisville Metro Police says that officers responded to a call of a “person down” at the Shawnee Boat Ramp in the 4600 block of Shawnee Park Drive at around 3:24 p.m. on Sunday, September 14.

At the scene, officers found a woman believed to be in her late 30s, dead with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say the victim was found in a wooded area near the boat ramp.

LMPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating.
