NEW YORK (WABC) - Loved ones of a couple in their 70s who were brutally killed in their New York home say they’re determined to make sure their legacy lives on.

Hundreds gathered at a vigil for Frank and Maureen Olton, 76 and 77, outside the couple’s home in Queens on Friday night. Prosecutors say the suspect, 42-year-old Jamel McGriff, confessed to torturing the Oltons before setting them on fire, leading to their deaths.

Those who attended the vigil hope the couple’s heinous murders will not define them.
