A Melbourne motorcyclist has lost his license after being clocked travelling at 225km/h in an early morning joyride.
The Honda motorcycle was travelling on the Monash Freeway at Glen Waverley at around 3 am this morning when officers conducting a laser speed check saw the motorbike go past.
The laser tracker subsequently found the rider was travelling at an incredibly high speed and highway patrols went to track down the bike.
They caught up with the rider, a man from Narre Warren, when he left the freeway and was caught at a set of lights.
The 22-year-old rider was unable to adequately explain why he was travelling at such a high speed, and was also not wearing protective clothing.
His bike was ultimately impounded at a cost of $1120.50, and he will most likely be charged with
