BUFFALO, N.Y. — Avery Hayes seemed to be experiencing déjà vu Sunday evening.

After the Penguins’ latest game in the Buffalo Prospects Challenge, the winger was shepherded to a small group of reporters waiting outside their dressing room. He greeted them with a smile and a look that said, “You guys want to talk to me again?”

Hey, kid. If you keep putting that puck in the net, you will be chatting with us a lot.

Hayes buried two more goals Sunday at LECOM Harborcenter as the Penguins lost, 5-4, to the Columbus Blue Jackets prospects. He now has three in two games here.
