ALEXANDRIA, VA – A former U.S. Army private has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for two counts of assault resulting in serious bodily injury and one count of sexual abuse. The sentence will be served consecutively to a separate 15-year sentence the defendant is already serving under Montana law.

According to court filings, the case stems from incidents in 2012 while the defendant was living on Fort Belvoir as an active duty soldier. His infant daughter suffered extensive injuries that required prolonged hospitalization and long-term medical treatment. Prosecutors said the child developed permanent impairments as a result of the abuse.

Medical records later documented multiple fractures, brain trauma, and seizure activity, which led to significant neurological complications.
