At the Primetime Emmys ceremony, Apple TV+ ’s “The Studio” won its 12th award, breaking the all-time record for most wins for a comedy series, in addition to already breaking the freshman comedy series record.
FX’s “The Bear” set the record in 2023, when it took home 10 trophies at the 77th Emmys, including outstanding comedy series and three acting prizes.
On Sunday’s main ceremony, “The Studio” won two awards for Seth Rogen — lead comedy actor and directing for the episode “The Oner” — the latter which he shared with Evan Goldberg. It was the directing win that broke the freshman record, and tying the all time record for any comedy ever.
Later in the evening, it won writing for a comedy series for the pilot episode — “The Promotion” — penned by Rogen,
