CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Despite a loss, SEMO soccer showed plenty of promise, with just one game left before OVC play.
Sunday, Kansas City defeated SEMO 4-3, in the Redhawks’ annual Donate Life Game.
The Redhawks started Sunday’s contest strong, with Jackson alum Justi Nelson finding another former Jackson star, Maya Domian, on a corner kick, Domian heading the ball home for her first career goal and a 1-0 lead.
The Roos would equalize before the half and quickly jump ahead in the second. Later, Kansas City would add another score, making it 3-1 Roos.
But SEMO didn’t give up on the day.
The Redhawks found their spark with Hayley Hogenmiller and Alyssa Schulte.
Hogenmiller ran down the left wing, crossing the ball straight to Schulte, who smashed home her first career goal.
