The Boston Red Sox earned their 82nd win of 2025 on Sunday night, and it was a big one. The Red Sox snapped their three-game losing streak with a 6-4 victory over the New York Yankees at Fenway Park, salvaging the series finale and finishing the regular season with a 9-4 record against the Yankees.

Boston scored all six of its runs in the first inning against Will Warren, who surrendered a season-high 10 hits and allowed his most runs in a start since July 2. That was enough for Garrett Crochet and the Red Sox bullpen, who combined for 16 strikeouts despite allowing three home runs.

By improving to 82-68, Boston clinched its first winning season since 2021 — the last time the organization made the playoffs with a 92-70 record.
