In the fourth quarter, the Chiefs had a prime chance to take the lead. On 2nd-and-goal from the Eagles ’ 6-yard line, Patrick Mahomes threw to Travis Kelce , but the pass slipped away and went straight to Andrew Mukuba of the Eagles, who wasted no time completing the interception. While Kelce frustratingly admitted his mistake, Mahomes insisted it was his own error.
The interception proved costly for the Chiefs, and Mahomes was quick to take the blame. “ Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes on the Kelce interception at the goal line: I threw it a tad too early, if I could put it on his body, he can catch it, take the hit, and get into the endzone, ” Rob Collins reported.
The interception was caught past Kansas City’s 40-yard line. The Eagles player almost returned for 100 yards.
