Earlier this year, the trio returned with The Pitt , another hospital-based drama that adopts an unconventional, hour-by-hour approach to the traditional format. And on Sunday night, the show began to build its own Emmys collection, including a win for Outstanding Drama Series.

After taking the stage, Gemmill used his brief acceptance speech to thank real-life healthcare workers for inspiring the show. “I want to dedicate this on behalf of everyone to all the healthcare workers, frontline first-responders,” said Gemmill. “Respect them. Protect them. Trust them.”
