BOSTON — Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet had a rough start to the final month of the regular season, allowing seven runs in 6 innings against Cleveland at home on Sept. 2.
But he has won both his starts since then, including striking out 12 over 6 innings in Boston’s 6-4 win over the Yankees on Sunday at Fenway Park.
The 26-year-old lefty induced 23 swings and misses from New York hitters while allowing three runs on five hits.
His latest strong performance came after striking out 10 in 7 scoreless innings in a victory over the Athletics in Sacramento on Tuesday.
