Bobby Hart, who was a co-writer of multiple hits for The Monkees, has died at the age of 86, reports say.
Hart’s death was confirmed in a social media post . Micky Dolenz, the last surviving member of The Monkees, responded to the news of Hart’s death.
“Another great is gone,” Dolenz writes on social media. “Bobby Hart, alongside Tommy Boyce, crafted some of The Monkees’ biggest hits and embodied the spirit of their success.
“His talent, humor and calmness amidst chaos brought peace to those around him — the eye of the hurricane."
According to the Associated Press , Hart and Boyce co-wrote hits such as “Last Train to Clarksville,” “I’m Not Your Steppin’ Stone,” and the theme song for the group’s TV show.
