A U.S. appeals court panel on Thursday ruled in favor of President Donald Trump's plan to block Medicaid funds to Planned Parenthood locations across the country, including those in Nebraska, while legal challenges continue.

The move stems from a provision included in Trump's tax bill, which was signed into law in July, instructing the federal government to end Medicaid payments to abortion providers, like Planned Parenthood clinics, that received more than $800,000 from Medicaid in 2023.

The Thursday ruling was made in response to a lawsuit filed against the legislation by Planned Parenthood affiliates in July, which caused the provision to be temporarily paused.
