PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A fiery crash is blocking traffic near a busy downtown Phoenix intersection on Sunday.

Around 7:15 p.m., officers responded to a crash involving the light rail and a semi-truck at 18th and Washington streets . Both the light rail and the semi were quickly engulfed in flames.

All occupants were able to make it out of the light rail and truck safely. The driver of the semi was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported. Authorities say the intersection will be shut down as they work to clear the area. Todd Keller with Phoenix Fire said the light rail routes will continue as planned, but you should expect delays.
