Sofia Vergara was supposed to present at the Emmys tonight, but she went to the emergency room instead.

The 53-year-old Modern Family actress took to her Instagram account on Sunday night (September 14) to explain why she missed the 2025 Emmy Awards .

“Didnt make it to the Emmys but made it to the ER 🤣😩sorry I had to cancel! Craziest eye allergie right before getting in the car!🤣🤣,” Sofia captioned her Instagram post.

Sofia included a photo of her eye looking incredibly swollen and she also shared videos of herself washing out her eye in a medical-grade sink.

Two co-stars from a popular new Netflix series appeared on stage to present in Sofia ‘s place.
