With Halloween season starting, Mad Margaret’s is entering its busiest time of the year — and its owners are seeking someone to continue the store’s tradition once this spooky season is finished.
The locally owned costume store, which has operated in Grand Junction for three decades, is for sale by married co-owners Preston Creel and Shelby Vigil. In May, the store advertised on its Facebook page that the asking price is around $250,000.
The store is not set to close.
“(The sale) would more or less be after the Halloween season. Our lease is up here after Halloween, so we’re probably going to downsize and move buildings somewhere else in town,” Creel said. “We’re still kind of hunting around, trying to find some place that isn’t super expensive.
