Earnest R. Emery, 94, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025.
He was born July 16, 1931, in Moundsville; the son of the late Harley Cramer Emery and Cora Reed Emery.
Earnest graduated from Moundsville High School in 1949 and began his working career at U.S. Stamping Works as an enamel worker.
On December 28, 1950, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served with the Strategic Air Command 60th Strategic Recon Unit, Nuclear Bombardment group.
Upon discharge, he went to work as a carpenter in Local 1830 United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Jointers. He helped build the twin smoke stacks at AEP Kammer Power Plant. He then worked for AEP as a mechanic and welder, retiring after 38 years as a maintenance foreman.
