MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A surprise Friday morning announcement from President Trump let the world know that National Guard personnel will be deployed into Shelby County next. The president announced it's happening and if he needed to, he would deploy the military as well to help fight crime in the Bluff City.

The Shelby County and Memphis mayors held separate news conferences to share reaction to the president's announcement on Fox and Friends Friday morning. The city mayor says it's out of his control, and the chief of police is hopeful she will not be left out of the loop, but the county mayor, Lee Harris, says he's wary, "I'm fearful that where this is going and that we will not get the promise of zero crime," Harris said.
