ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The ACC has fined Georgia Tech $50,000 after its fans rushed the field following the team’s 24-21 upset win over No. 12-ranked Clemson on Saturday.
This marks the first violation of the league’s new event security policy, with all fines being directed to the ACC’s Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford Postgraduate Scholarship Fund. A second offense would prompt a $100,000 fine. After that, the penalty increases to $200,000 for any additional offenses within a rolling two-year period.
