The Oklahoma State Fair is offering visitors a chance to shop local at the Made in Oklahoma Store, a 3,000-square-foot shop inside the Bennett Event Center.

This year, the store features 75 Oklahoma companies with a total of 831 products. Shoppers can browse items ranging from salsa and barbecue sauce to handmade soaps and caramels.

Organizers said preparing the store is a year-long process. Companies submit applications early in the year, and a selection committee decides which products will be featured during the 11-day fair.

Supporters say buying local makes a difference for many of the businesses showcased.
